INTERNATIONAL DAY OF REMEMBRANCE FOR FALLEN POLICE OFFICERS
On 7 March, Mongolia joined law enforcement agencies around the world in commemorating the International Day of Remembrance for Fallen Officers, an initiative established by the International Criminal Police Organization in 2019 to honour police officers who have lost their lives in the line of duty.
Mongolia marked the occasion by illuminating prominent national landmarks in blue, symbolizing solidarity among police services worldwide. In Ulaanbaatar, the State Department Store and the Government Palace were lit in blue to honour the sacrifice and dedication of fallen law enforcement officers.
In addition, the INTERPOL logo was displayed across all 21 provinces of Mongolia to raise public awareness of the significance of 7 March and to pay tribute to the men and women of law enforcement who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty.
Observed globally, the day serves as a solemn reminder of the commitment and courage of police officers who stand on the front lines of public safety, reinforcing international cooperation and solidarity among law enforcement agencies across borders.
