A Mongolian fugitive, subject of an INTERPOL Red Notice, wanted for ordering the murder of an Mongolian national back in 2015, was brought back to Mongolia from Australia, under the supervision of security escorts on 11 July 2024.

The apprehension of the fugitive was made possible due to close cooperation between the law enforcement authorities of the two countries. The fugitive has been at large since early 2017.

The man who carried out the murder, allegedly under the order of the aforementioned fugitive, was extradited to Mongolia in 2016, after a month long search and information exchange through INTERPOL channel.
