On 07 July 2024, a Mongolian fugitive was arrested in Budapest, Hungary.

The individual was a subject of an INTERPOL Red Notice, wanted for multiple counts of armed assaults against other persons in Mongolia.

Mongolian police received intelligence that the fugitive was hiding in Hungary, constantly harrasing and extorting his compatriots.

After exchanging intelligence with our Hungarian counterparts through INTERPOL channel, the Mongolian and Hungarian law enforcement authorities organized an successful operation, which led the to successful apprehension of the fugitive.

The fugitive is currently in police custody, awaiting extradition to Mongolia.
